Campus Bike Shelters
Problem
The current bike storage system is inadequate for the Rocky Mountain College biker because it does not properly shelter and secure bikes. Some racks at high use areas also lack enough space for students to store bikes.

ABOVE: Student housing buildings have major bike storage issues. Students at the Rimview dorm are forced to chain their bikes to the railing inside & outside of the front doors.
ABOVE: Many racks, like this one at the library, offer no protection from the Montana weather. Even on a sunny day this rack is not bolted down and does not provide the proper security.
ABOVE: Some high use areas also lack enough space for students to store bikes.
BikeRMC plans to address these issues by putting up the first bike shelter next Spring outside of the Rimview Residence Hall. These shelters will have bolted down racks for security and roofs above the racks for protection from precipitation.
The roofs will be modeled after the image shown below.
